Even more minimalist and filigree, with elegance and a high quality material appearance: the new Quadrature® 2 with proven Eldacon® microprismatic light control technology is awarded with the iF Product Design Award 2011.

Even optimal solutions can still be made a touch better. Siteco Quadrature®, always one of the most slimline linear fluorescent luminaires, has now received a new form from Phoenix Design, Stuttgart. The internationally renowned design offices have managed to maintain the very flat construction height while at the same time making the luminaire appear even more slender. Tom Schönherr from Phoenix Design: "We wanted to achieve an optically lighter luminaire and in terms of mass a less dominant one – a luminaire for architects!" 'The design appeals - this shows the iF Product Design Award 2011 which Siteco got for this luminaire.

Accent setting via a clear language of form

Good design is manifested by simplicity. This is also true for the Quadrature® 2 luminaire range, covering recessed, surface-mounted and suspended versions. The new housing appears less weighty and the profiles narrower, almost like a slender picture frame. This impression is underlined with the framelike white enclosure of the Eldacon® microprismatic structure. To the rear of this and not visible from outside are two T16 fluorescent lamps that can have various wattages. LED configurations are also planned.

The new luminaire body now appears much flatter; the upper housing sides could be more strongly retracted without impairing functionality. This was in fact so successful that the viewer is no longer able to see the actual housing height from below, but only the slender frame. With the surface-mounted version the luminaire in this way gains an almost floating appearance below the ceiling.

The frame is manufactured of brushed, anodised aluminium, and the all-round lower edge is highly specular polished. This surface finish contributes to the absolutely premium grade appeal of the luminaire. The all-round shadow gap surrounding the white framing and the perfectly processed mitre cuts of the profile give the complete visible frame the appearance of being cast from a single piece.

Eldacon® – the technology of directing light without glare

The Eldacon® technology developed by Siteco guarantees absolutely glare-free lighting via highly precise microprismatic structures. These enable homogeneous luminance over the entire light emission surface without a direct view of the lamps. Eldacon® light guidance also reduces reflected glare below the luminaire and thus creates maximum flexibility with the arrangement of workplaces in the room.

Thanks to the Eldacon® technology, the new, ultra-flat Siteco Quadrature® 2 luminaire family is especially suitable for sophisticated lighting situations such as computer screen and CAD workstations, video conference rooms, call centres, control rooms and doctors' practices.

Intelligent luminaire connection system

The Quadrature® 2 recessed luminaires are equipped with the new Linect® connection system. This system allows both conventional mains connection of the luminaire and connection via standardised plug connection systems from various manufacturers. A big advantage, especially for installers, is the short installation time, because the luminaire does not have to be opened any more for electrical connection. Luminaires with the Linect® logo can be connected to all Linect® designated plug connectors, independent of the manufacturer. For planning and installation this means among other factors a simplifying of all phases of a project, from uniform tendering to rapid, low-cost installation.
