Siteco Lights Up The Winter Olympics in Turin

The prelude to the Winter Olympics in Turin takes place at the local Stadio Comunale. It was inaugurated on 29/11/05 in Turin as an olympic stadium, and after extensive reconstruction is now able to offer places for 35,000 spectators. The closing ceremony also takes place in the stadium, whose ownership will be transferred to AC Torino for the following 99 years. The lighting for the entrance areas and changing rooms as well as the arena and playing field comes from Siteco. The company worked together with the architects TiFS from Padua as well as the planning offices of Kopa Engineering in Turin.

Sicompact R2 Maxi projectors make sure that the arena and the actual playing field are illuminated with an optimal vertical light illuminance and a good local uniformity in terms of horizontal illuminance. The asymmetrical beam distribution of the Sicompact A2 Midi floodlights limits glare and light spill in the entrance areas of the stadium.

In the changing rooms, Monsun dampproof luminaires and Siteco Lunis R downlights provide for a high level of lighting. Appropriate levels of direct and indirect light allow for a pleasant and communicative atmosphere.

Siteco develops and produces innovative lighting solutions for varied professional deployments both indoors and outdoors. The range of outdoor luminaires offers solutions from street and square lighting to lighting for airports and stadiums.

In the area of indoor lighting, design-oriented and innovative Siteco products prove ideal for the lighting of office and industrial buildings as well as sports halls, public buildings and shopping centres. The european company with headquarters in Traunreut, Germany, has equipped numerous international stadiums in the past years with Siteco light.

These include six of the ten stadiums involved in the 2004 European Championships in Portugal, the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan, stadiums in other parts of the world such as Japan and Greece, and stadiums participating in the 2006 World Championships in Germany, such as the Allianz Arena in Munich.
