Littlewoods Group takes flight with new HQ

The Skyways House is the new head office for Littlewoods Shop Direct Group.  The office building is a £31 million state-of-the-art facility, covering 100,000 square feet.

Originally built in 1939, the breathtaking Grade II listed building was a former aircraft hanger.  Through this project's redevelopment, the hanger and its adjacent facility, Skyways 2, are now modern, air-conditioned, open and friendly work environments where everyone can flourish and develop with flair and creativity.

A vital aspect of this project was keeping the original design integrity of the listed building whilst providing modern lighting levels and visual interest.  The ground floor utilizes SiTECO luminaires integrated within the original exposed steel beam structures.  On the floors above, SiTECO luminaires were incorporated within a bespoke, continuous raft system.  Overall, the design provided correct office illumination to the work areas whilst introducing feature lighting to the unique roof structure.
